12/12/07   I have revised and updated Beyond the Flat Line hopefully for the last time. I will now start to push for it's publication. In the mean time I'll be go back and work on a few chapters of my first novel before going back to some of the short stoies I have in the works.    I have desided to cut back on some of the advertising here. It's cluttering up things and to be honest is not making me much money anyway. I think I might keep all of it in my store section, just in case anyone might be interested in aquiring some of the items. 11/28/07  I'm sorry I have not done anything that's obvious on the site. I'm still working on updating a short story I'm going to push for publication. There are a number of places I can send it, but it all takes time. Once that I've got that done I'm going to work on the novel more before working on any short stories for a while. 11/08/07  I just put up the final version (I hope) of Which Came First. I'm still learning to use the new software and I may need to go back to the old in order to finish a few things. I wish I could port everything over? I might be able to do some things? 11/02/07  Sorry I don't have anything new yet. I've been helping with work on another site and tweaking stories I already did for publication. I'm also working with a new 3D tool and it's not very good at using my old stuff so I'm not sure what I will do. Maybe finish what I already have in Bryce before going total into the new tool. 10/10/07   I am now looking for someone to help edit/proof read my writing for me.  I can do some of it myself and I have one other reading over my stuff. Together we find most of the problems, however I still miss minor things.   I need someone experienced with this kind of work and likes SF. Anyone interested can contact me via my Contact Outpost 13 page. Some compensation is available. 10/03/07 I've added a new Sci-Fi Store! I will be adding and taking away things from it as time goes on. 10/01/07   In an attempt to earn enough to keep this site going I'm adding a new store. It will be a direct link to purchase Sci-Fi merchandise I think you might like.   As time goes on I will drop the stores that don't seem to be making much. I really don't want to way this site down with to much advertisement. That's why I have limited its placements. Little if any will be found on the writing or art pages. 09/21/07   I've been working on some new art just for one of the stores. The new stuff is better and should attract more sales.   Editing my stuff is rather boring and has brought my production down to a crawl. I'm looking for someone to edit my work for me in order to free up more time for creation. 09/12/07   I've been working on two new short stories. Both are things that I hope I will be able to add into my novels. These were ideas that I felt could work well enough as short stories. I also hope they will help create more interest in my novels.   You can go to New stories currently in the works to find out details. 09/06/07   I've been working on another short story that really will be a part of my novel. I have had an idea I wanted to do, but have gotten tired of waiting to get to it. So I'm making this future chapter into a short story. This chapter will be going into the beginning of "The War" Part 2 novel.   I  have even been playing with the idea of making my "The War" novel into 3 parts instead of just 2. In this way I can do a little more with some of new ideas I have. First things first, I need to get Part 1 done so I can push it for publication. 08/23/07   I updated my story Beyond the Flat Line with a few tweaks. I'm working on some animations shorts while working on the novel now. I'll use these shorts for both experimentation and to go into my animation promo.   I'm trying to go on a schedule of getting a chapter part done a week, then up that if I can. So far I've not done well with all the extra things I seem to have gotten into that take your time up.   I still need to get more traffic to my site. I've done just about all I can without spending lots of money. I should look into anything else I can do? 08/08/07   Been working on novel more and more again. As a result I have gone back and made a few more changes. Most have only been for simple things, and continuity. I want to get a little more done while I can. The Art work will be placed on hold, but you never know I might take a day from time to time to work on it to. In fact it might not be a bad idea to go back and create some animations with what I already have done. This what I'll have more stuff to edit together later for my Novel's promo video. 08/03/07   I've been busy working on the Novel again. I've had to go back and make a few tweaks to what I have already done. Some of it was minor add on items, others were important foreshadowing elements. 07/22/07   My host has offered me two free months as compensation for all the trouble with there server. Frankly two more months of it being unreliable is no compensation.   Ok I've been working on a number of pictures to go with my Which Came First short story in the Art and Prose magazine. I've been putting off posting them here so they can get a first run in the magazine first. Since there are only three more for the final part I thought I go ahead and post them all here now. Small versions that are linked to bigger ones are now in the story text at Which Came First, enjoy. 07/19/07   My host has been giving me fits! The site keeps going down and I only get the standard "we will take care of it". It's time for a new host!   I have been thinking about doing this once my current host renewal comes due anyway. However, I may have to do it sooner then I expected. 07/15/07   Part 2 of my (Not so) short story was published in Art and Prose magazine.   My new Short Story Beyond the Flat Line was also just added to the site. Be warned though it has explicit language and sexual references. (Yeah dirty old me.)   I've also been making custom buttons too. You will see more and more as time goes on. 07/13/07   In an attempt to make this site a little more useful to me and other folks trying to get their stuff published I've been adding more publishers in my Sci-Fi Publishers List. I have included my experience with them as well so you will have an idea about what to expect.   I may add more ads to the site, but I will try to keep them down to a minimum. If you folks would check some of them out once in a while I may not have to add more.   I also added a Writer Resources section. I've found some useful advice on the Internet so I thought I would post links to them for all you writers out there. 07/09/07   Well I resisted as long as I could. This site cost money to keep going so I had to add some adds to it. I have also been heavily pushing my site for promotion of my works for publication, but also to sell some of the stuff I've made. So far it has not been enough.   I plan on keeping the Ads only in select places and ad as few as possible.   Because of this I've been cleaning up the front page a little and making it a little more user friendly for those using a lower resolution. I plan on changing some of the art on the front page anyway so it will be easier for when I do.   Part 2 of my Short (ha ha not so short) story will be coming out on 7/15. It will have new artwork as well. I'm working on new art for the final installment of the story right now. 07/02/07   Outpost 13 is now sponsoring the Original Sci-Fi top 100 sites list. I am trying to have a listing of sites lists with original Sci-Fi content. This is an attempt to promote fresh and new Sci-Fi that would normally remain hidden otherwise.   I have spent a number of hours trying to find sites like myself. Both for banner exchanges and just seeing what's out there. I thought this might be the best way to do it. 06/15/07   I would also like to announce part 1 of the short story “Which came first” has been published in Art and Prose Magazine! (www.artandprose.com)   The story starts on page 7 of the magazine, but I'm not mentioned on the cover. 05/29/07   A lot of neat things are happening. Don't have time to elaborate right now but you will all see soon.   I'm still  working on setting up a store that will sell stuff. I've got to get a number of things together first. 05/11/07   I started work on the Space shuttle in the story. I really don't know if I need it, but I may try to make an animation of the beginning of chapter 4 of "The War" Part 1.   I've also looked at having a shop to sell T-shirts, Mouse pads, Mugs ect, with my art work. If I do you all will be the first to know. 05/0707   Got my Bomber finished and have been working on making some pictures, downloadable Bootskins,  and Wallpaper for the site.   I have recently ran into some issues with my 3D creation program (Bryce). It seems there might be limits with it that I was not aware of. This has really cause me some problems. I have also had a number of problems creating a 20 second animation too. 04/19/07   I know it's been a while, but I've been working on some details of my space fighter. I worked on a pilot for the cockpit and decided I didn't like the simple cockpit I had already made. (From on my laser bucket.)  So I made a new one. I also started on the bomber too, so check them out from here. 03/28/07   Well I made a change in my novel. I decided the details about the Crystal a little more mysterious and I even have changed is, somewhat. (See Preface and Chapter 3 part 2 for these changes.)   I've been working on the Sandra and it has inspired me to make a little change in exactly where Chapter 4 takes place on the ship. 3/08/07   Been working on a 20 second animation of the Carl Sagan and have been having issues with the program which seems to be locking up on me? In the mean time I made a shorter 4 second one you can see here.   I have submitted the Short Story "Which Came First" for publication.   I plan on working on the Sandra next and a final revision of Chapter 4. (This is the first chapter she first appears in.) It's been hard for me to get back into my writing since I've been working on my 3D art work and animations. I will try to do my best and get back up on that horse. 2/22/07   As you can tell I can't seem to focus on  of my 3D art productions without starting four more. Sorry about that. (Solar Sailor.)   I recently seen off some of my new 3D art work and my story "The Stick" for consideration in a Greek Sci-Fi magazine. Unfortunately there is no money in it but it would be nice to get something published in print. At least its a step in the right direction. I plan on focusing on the Carl Sagan and Sandra. I need to play more with making custom skins for them anyway, and that is my weakest point right now. 2/17/07   I added a preview of what the Carl Sagan is looking like so far. Thought you might like to see my first custom skin too. 2/15/07   I went ahead an did it.   I know I'm not all that into making a blog, but they seem to serve a purpose for some folks.   I basically wanted to add one just to let you know what I am doing and what I'm working on.   Lately I have been working on the site and my new 3D artwork. I really need to get back to my novel(s) and get it out there for possible publication. If nothing else I might just do it myself. E-novels are the new way to get ones work out there.   I'm hoping to get the T.K.S. Sandra with extra's (Fights, shuttle) done to make a short animation. I plan to use it to introduce my writing to possible agents and publishers.   Ironically enough I was working on the final draft of Chapter 4 where the reader is told about the Sandra for the first time. That's when I got the idea to make an animation of if. At first I was thinking of making one like my last animated gif and was in the process  of doing so until someone suggested I look at Bryce.   Well as you can see I've been spending most of my time using it.   Don't worry I'm not giving up on my writing. In fact I've been itching to work on another short story of mine. I think I only wrote it out once and it was only a few pages long. It only focused on the climax of the story, but I've got a few new things to add to it now. It's going to be more of a Twilight Zone/Horror type tale, and probably the only horror like story I may ever write. Until next time.
